Chandra Adhi Yoga

Chandra is the Moon, representing the source of water in our lives. We know that we get this from lakes and rivers which is represented by Venus, the Jala kāraka. But the source of this is the rainfall which is signified by the Moon. Soma the Moon-God worships Śiva as ‘Atrīśvara’ and Moon brings the rain down to make the planet habitable. This is called Chandra hṛdaya, the compassion (hṛd) of Moon seen in opposite (7th house) from Moon. It starts from the sign preceding sign (6th house) and ends in the succeeding sign (8th house). This is a great blessing called Chandra Adhi Yoga. It is the blessing of Kāmdhenu, the celestial cow.

In human charts we examine the ‘Moon Chart’

  • 6th house for startup, study, learning, research, prototype » Brahmā ‘A’
  • 7th house for finalising, delivery, recognition » Viṣṇu ‘U’
  • 8th house for closing, retiring or transforming » Rudra ‘Ṁ’

For the Umbrella to open we need at least one planet in the 6th, one in 7th and one in 8th bhava from the Moon. Umbrella is in your hand and it is upto you to open it. But often you do not have the strength. See the focus of the umbrella. This is the 10th house with 10L Mercury exalted there in a siṁhāsana yoga with Saturn. So the one who can energize you to open is the deity associated with the 10th house. Note 10H is opposite her Moon in 4H. And we have learnt that the devata for this bhava is Viṣṇu (Kendra) » Nṛsiṁha (10H). All she needs is a Nṛsiṁha mantra and voila, the umbrella opens.

If you have Chandra Yogas, Soma will give you a happy life. You become a happy soul. Think of Surya Yogas as Rama Yogas and Chandra Yogas as Krsna Yogas
